The structure decides, the door follows
At Peyssilieu and in the old farms of the plain you still meet walls of pisé, rammed earth built on courses of river cobbles. The material takes compression very well but dislikes being drilled anywhere at all: an ordinary plug pulls out at the first leverage. The wall is probed, and only then are the anchors chosen.
In the blocks at Les Plantées the structure is concrete and anchorage there is excellent, provided you hit the right wall. Beside a landing door, what looks like a load-bearing wall is sometimes a partition added later. The difference cannot be seen from the corridor: it is heard with a mallet and confirmed by a test drilling, before anything is committed.
On the houses of Le Carreau the front door usually sits in a reveal lined with insulation and plasterboard. That lining carries nothing. An angle fixed to it gives you a heavy door on a weak anchor, which is the opposite of the point: the fixings have to pass through and reach the masonry behind.
Appearance, consents, and coherence across the plot
Retrofit cladding changes how the door looks, because a steel skin goes over the leaf. In a residence at Les Plantées the face seen from the landing falls under the rules of the block: ask the managing agent before ordering, and keep the answer in writing. A tenant also needs the owner's agreement.
On a door visible from the public road, particularly in the old centre of Meyzieu, a change of appearance may require prior notice to the planning department. The urbanisme office at the mairie answers for your exact address, and that is the only dependable answer. The question belongs before the order, not once the door is on the pavement.
Finally, cladding protects an opening, not a house. On a Le Carreau property whose patio door opens onto a garden with no solid boundary, strengthening the entrance simply shifts the weak point to the back. Coherence across the plot matters more than performance at one spot: a shutter, a fence or an outside light sometimes counts for more than extra steel.
